Cruse Bereavement Care Scotland

Cruse Bereavement Care Scotland has introduced a National Phoneline on 0845 600 2227 to make it easier for bereaved people in all parts of Scotland to access help and support from trained Cruse volunteers.
Volunteers answering calls to the national phoneline will deal with callers’ initial questions and where appropriate arrange subsequent contact with local Cruse services.

Calls from a landline to the national number are charged at local rates.

The new national phoneline number is the main point of contact for all initial enquiries, and will therefore replace all existing local referral or helpline phone numbers.  This number will be operational in Dundee as from Monday 14 December 2009.

If you are giving out information about Cruse please now quote 0845 600 2227 as the contact number.

Please also be aware that bereaved people seeking help from Cruse should contact us themselves - we do not accept referrals on behalf of someone else other than in exceptional circumstances.

Cruse Scotland can offer different kinds of support at different stages of bereavement and to people of all ages including children and young people.  We know however from evidence and experience that, for adults, individual counselling is most likely to be effective for people who are still experiencing difficulties in relation to their bereavement after a period of about six months.

More information about Cruse Bereavement Care Scotland can be found at www.crusescotland.org.uk

If you would like more information about your local Cruse services, please contact tayside@crusescotland.org.uk
